Swearing In Ceremony Reception and Registering to Vote. We will happily welcome the newly sworn in citizens to their new home and country, have a reception for them and have the city clerk on hand to register them to vote. We will also give them information on how to get more information on the candidates. Registering them to vote via the city clerk allows them to vote absentee the first time since they will be identified by official personnel.

LWV TA fall kickoff dinner. This is the time for us to gather and discuss what we will work on for the coming year over a fundraising dinner of pizza, salad, beverage, and dessert. It will be followed immediately by a panel discussion of the city land use ballot proposal on the charter amendment.

Panel discussion on the city land use ballot proposal. The presentation will be two pro and two con people who will speak to the Troy city's land use Cost is $10 per person if you eat and free if you come to hear the speakers only. Troy City Council Candidates Night. Seven people are running for 3 expiring seats on Troy City Council. This is a one hour program where candidates can answer questions posed by the audience in writing on 3x5cards provided at the site and grouped by subject to get as many topics as possible covered in that time. We must be ready to start the program at 7pm so please come early enough to get seated and comfortable before then. "Welcomng Voices: Standing with Refugees". A two hour panel put on by the Waterford Refugee Welcome Alliance. Statehood for the People of Washington, DC. This presentation will make a case for citizenship for the people who live in Washington DC. This will give them the same rights that the people in the 50 states enjoy. Presenter is Yilin Zhang who is a consultant at Kaiser Permanente where she advises on and manages care delivery and strategy projects. She holds a MS in Health Policy and Economics from the London School of Economics. Event is open to the public and is free. No reservations are required.

Members interested and able have been assigned what part of the brochure to update and we will assemble to put into the computer to make the sheets which compile the brochure and which will go into our website.
