Friday, March 14, 2008	12 noon-1:30pm	Steamers Cafe Troy Public Library 510 West Big Beaver Troy 48084	Public Art in Troy and Pathways through Troy. First in a three part lecture series, this will feature Ron Hynd, Landscape Analyst, Troy Parks and Recreation showcasing public art currently owned by the city and discuss it's location and condition. This is of special interest to League for its city study. Part two of the session will include Pathways through Troy where Jeffrey Biegler, Superintendent, Parks and Recreation, will present the Troy Civic Center Priority Task Force Report on a pathway system featuring art pieces. Thursday, April 17, 2008	6:00pm-9pm	Royal Oak Farmers Market 316 East Eleven Mile Road (2 blocks E of Main Street at corner of 11 Mile and Troy Street-East of the Library	Recycling 101 Workshop. Join us for a recycling workshop where you will learn what new items can be recycled and what impact it makes on the environment and how it helps the earth. Second in a new brown bag lecture series, John Tagle, AIS, Architect & Planner, will cover the role good desgn plays in a vibrant and thriving city's success. Want to know where your recyclables go after they leave your curbside bin? Come see how they are processed and what they are made into. Tours are free and are great for individuals, families, eco conservation clubs, scouts, etc. Call SOCRRA at 248.288.5150 for reservations so they have enough tour guides on site.

Friday, May 16, 2008	12 noon-1:30pm	Steamers Cafe Troy Public Library 510 West Big Beaver Troy 48084	Civic Art as the Wise Sage of Big Beaver Road. Third and last in the brown bag lecture series, Mark F. Miller, AICP/PCP, City of Troy Planning Director, will update projects such as The Pavilions of Troy. He will tie together urbanism, art, and Big Beaver Road through civic art gateways, sleek and elegant street furniture, public squares and more. Thursday, June 19, 2008	6:30pm	Home of Sue R.	Annual Meeting of the Membership. This is the annual meeting of the membership of the League of Women Voters of Troy Area. Annual meeting reports are submitted to members, bylaws and budget are approved, and directions to the board are given by the membership.
